We just got a 03 Altima from the dealership in March. The check engine light came on and we brought it in and they told us it was a misfire on clylinder 3 so they switched it with 1 and told us to drive to see if the light tripped again. ^ not sure what any of this means.. but we drove. Couple days later, it tripped so we brought it back to them. Now they're saying it looks like it's leaking coolant and they need to replace the head.. The warranty will cover it if that's whats wrong. BUT if the head is damaged the warranty will not.. How will a car drive if it has head damage? The car was driving fine, didn't even notice anything was wrong with it besides when you tried to start it, it would studder some. We won't know till Monday what's going on and I'm really worried about this.. We haven't even had the car 3 months and something is wrong with it. Thanks. It depends on the extent of the damage and what parts are damaged. Driving wise, a cars performance would be down in the way it responds to the throttle and coolant consumption. By the time they figure out what is wrong, you will not be able to drive it until the engine is put back together. I would suggest you find a different repair shop for future needs. If they did not know how to test for coolant leaks, it can't be much of a shop that you are going to now (or they take you for an easy mark). The head should be covered for it is not a wear and tear part and you say that they switched 1 and 3 over ,it could mean they just switched over the number 1 lead for number 3 lead .If you are loosing coolant it could be that the head gasket is leaking .I think that the dealership are trying to get out of paying for the repair under the warranty . Small-medium length utes available in australia? Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a second hand ute, cheaply (as in, less than $5000 AUD, i mean CHEAP) but since i live in suburbia i can't deal with a really long ute- i need to parallel park! So if you know of any small-medium sized utes that you can drive in the city without being totally insane, that also costs less than $5000, that also won't make me look like a total tool in front of my real ute-driving mates (so, no, not the Suzuki Mighty Boy. That thing is ridiculous) Please list it here and I will me very grateful. Thanks car insurance. Auto parts : > Automatic Transmission Shifter Cable Bracket Mitsubishi 2007. How to Replace a Fuel Pump on a Chevrolet TruckWith both full and mid-size Chevrolet trucks, the fuel pump is contained within the fuel tank itself. The pump cannot be separated from its module, so replacing the pump means replacing the entire module. In order to do this, you need to disconnect the fuel tank from the truck This procedure varies only slightly between mid-size trucks like the Colorado and full-size ones like the Silverado. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Jack stands Wrench Screwdriver Fuel siphoning kit Clean gas can Transmission jack Vise-grip pliers Replacement fuel pump module Step by Step : 1 De-pressurize the truck's fuel system. Open the fuel tank by removing the cap and disconnect the fuel pump relay from the fuse box in the engine compartment. Start the engine and let it stall, then crank it for another five to ten seconds. 2 Disconnect the truck's negative battery cable. Siphon all fuel out of the tank into a clean gas can using a siphoning kit from an auto parts store. On a full-size truck like the Silverado, disconnect the screws holding the fuel filler tube's flange to the body. 3 Raise and support the truck on jack stands. On a mid-size truck, remove the left rear fenderwell liner. On full-size trucks, remove the shield on the tank (if equipped), the fuel filler pipe's ground strap and the EVAP canister. 4 Disconnect the fuel supply and return lines from the tank and the EVAP vapor lines. Remove the filler hose from the tank if it disconnects (usually on mid-size trucks). 5 Support the fuel tank with a transmission jack underneath it. Remove the straps holding the tank in place by removing its bolts. Disconnect the electrical connectors and lower the jack to remove the tank and fuel pump module. Disconnect the fuel and EVAP lines from module. 6 Remove the fuel pump module from the tank. Release the locking tab with a pointed tool while rotating the locking ring counter-clockwise with vise-grip pliers, then lift the module out. 7 Install the new fuel pump module within the tank, making sure the fuel lines are aligned with their fittings. Press the module down into the tank until it is seated. Install and, making sure it is fully seated and the locking tab is engaged within the slot. 8 Re-install everything on the truck in reverse order of installation. Refill the tank with at least five gallons of gas, starting with the siphoned fuel. Reconnect the fuel pump relay and the negative battery cable. 9 Re-pressurize the fuel system by turning the ignition switch on for a couple of seconds and then back off for about ten. Repeat this five to ten times. Chrysler . How to Replace a Honda Fuel PumpThe electric fuel pump on your Honda is located inside the fuel tank. Most models provide an access door underneath the rear seat cushion. This guide is based on a Honda Civic, which is similar to other models. The brake pedal The brake pedal in your car is attached to a shaft that leads to the brake master cylinder. When you step on the brake pedal, small pistons in the master cylinder force brake fluid out of the master cylinder and into the brake lines. I tell you how to buy the proper brake fluid and work with it safely in "Flushing and Changing Brake Fluid" in Chapter 18. If your brakes are working properly, the pedal should stop a couple of inches from the floor. It should push down easily, stop firmly at its lowest point without feeling spongy, and stay put instead of sinking down slowly when you put normal pressure on it. To check the brakes on your vehicle, see Chapter 18. Figure 10-2: Chrysler . What is the name of the fastest car on land?
Shelby SuperCars' (SSC) Ultimate Aero Volvo Coupe. * The power brake booster is located near the master cylinder. .Chapter 10: Ifs the Brakes! 1 B 1 The pou/er-brake boaster Today, most vehicles have power brakes. If your car has power brakes, a brake booster is located between the brake pedal and the master cylinder to increase the force applied to the pistons in the master cylinder so that your car can stop with less effort on your part (see Figure 10-2). The two most common types are vacuum-assisted boosters, which use engine vacuum and atmospheric pressure to do the job, and hydraulic-assisted boosters (commonly referred to as "hydro-boost units"), which use hydraulic pressure from the car's power steering to accomplish the same thing. Some vehicles with anti-lock brake systems (ABS) have a hydraulic pump to generate pressure for booster operation. (There's a section on ABS at the end of this chapter.) Power brake booster -Master cylinder The brake master cylinder Look under the hood of your car, up near the firewall on the driver's side. You should see either a metal box or a plastic bottle. Have you found it? This piece is the brake master cylinder (see Figures 10-3 and 10-4). It's filled with brake fluid and is connected to your brake pedal, with brake lines leading from it to the four wheels of your car. When you step on the brake pedal, fluid goes out of the master cylinder into the brake lines. When you release the pedal, the fluid flows back into the master cylinder. In Chapter 18,1 show you how to open and check the master cylinder safely. This task is also part of the monthly under-the-hood check in Chapter 3. 182 Part ll: What Makes l! Go? Chrysler .
